The feeling of achievement and happiness comes to me every time my black belt goes around my waist. Not only has my black belt given me pride and strength, it has changed my life dramatically. Before and during the
beginning of my training at Villari's I was an extremely shy person that thought he was helpless and had little worth to the world. Through my entire training I became more confident and strong minded and developed a
courageous soul. During my black belt test I was pushed to my limits to force myself to work harder, reaching for the brass ring that would hold the most valuable possession that I own. As my name was called to receive my
black belt, many emotions came into my head but I allowed one of the strongest to come out pride. I have developed a pride in myself that has blossomed into me standing in front of a group of students and teaching. The
aspect of me teaching has also helped me as I received my black belt because I know have the power to assist in the long and hard journey of the students reaching whatever they desire. My black belt is not just a belt it’s
the greatest symbol of my life. This is because it has shown that hard work and determination can bring one to succeed. I have succeeded in many of places in life from the confidence of the martial artist; these areas that
I have excelled in are Boy Scouts, Track and Field, school, and life in general. Not only is my black belt a symbol of success it is a symbol of a rebirth. I have felt like a new person as I placed my black belt on my
waist. My life has become more positive with my belt because I now know that with what I have learned I can face any challenge and never give up because I have training and a large Fred Villari's family behind me no matter
what I chose to do.

Mr Duffy,
I am very thankful for what you have taught me in such a short time in the Women's class at SMC. I was walking home one night when two men started talking to me from the next corner to come hang out with them. I crossed the
road and continued to my dorm as I got closer to the men (from teh opposite side of the road ) I noticed they were to old to be college kids. I thank you for making me more aware! Student SMC.
Hello Master Shover,
